"It was beyond my expectations."
Why did you take a bartending course?
I wanted to try something new where I could show the social and happy side of myself! Within the bartender profession there are so many things you can specialize in, and there is always so much to learn, I think it is a lot of fun. You can only get better and better. It is also a job skill that you can easily use when you are travelling.What did you think of the course?
The course was very good, it was very serious. It was hard work and a lot of study, but blended with a lot of laughs and fun. We had a good group and stuck together 100%. I learned all I needed to know and a lot of small things about different spirits and how they are made.What did you think of the instructors?
The instructors have my full respect. They were humorous and very clear and demanding at the same time. They let us work at our own tempo and always helped us on the side in case there was something you had a problem with. They taught on our level and were never condescending. This made study fun and made us raise our goals.What was best about the course?
Everyone probably answers drink mixing to this question! And so do I to a point. When you know a drink and can make it quickly and correctly then you can feel like a real bartender. I am not one that likes to study from books so much but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the theory lessons. After this course you know all you need to know about alcohol within the bar business and immediately tell the difference between a good spirit and a bad one or a dark or light beer, or an aged whiskey etc.Would you recommend EBS to someone else and why?
I would absolutely recommend the course. You learn so much and have fun at the same time. I made a lot of fantastic friends and had a lot of great nights out. In London we stayed at a fantastic hostel, which also let me meet a lot of people from all over the world.Was the course at the level you expected, or did you expect something else?
It was beyond my expectations. I thought it would be slacker, but I was so motivated by the friends around me and by the instructors that I strived to get the best grades and worked hard for it. It proved helpful and you can easily find a job when you complete the course.
