Why did you take a bartending course?
I have always been interested in bartending and needed an extra job. So when a friend asked if I wanted to go with him and take the EBS course held on Kos I thought it sounded like a lot of fun but at the same time very instructive. He had heard a lot of good things from others that had taken the course previously.Why did you choose EBS?
Because a friend of mine chose the course. Of course I investigated EBS before I traveled. I had heard that it was quite serious and a difficult program, which at first may seem doubtful because it is held on the island of Kos.What did you think of the course?
One of the best things I have done in my whole life. I got extensive training and learned everything that a professional bartender needs to know. Not only how to make drinks quickly and effectively, but also a lot of theory that the customers really appreciate when you are working. I also had a lot of fun, both in school and outside, and met friends for life. The school was so complete; we really learned everything we needed.What did you think of the instructors?
The instructors were unbelievable. Tough, serious and very experienced. They taught us how to handle stressful situations, which is very important for a good bartender to know.Would you recommend EBS to someone else and why?
I would absolutely recommend EBS. If someone is interested in bartending as a career then there is no reason to hesitate. If you graduate from EBS you are practically guaranteed a job. I figured I got back the money I spent on the course in one month’s time working as a bartender when I returned home.Why did you choose to attend at the location you chose?
Sun and sea while learning a trade that greatly interested me. Some people said that Kos is not a serious place to take the course, but looking back I can tell you that it is totally wrong. It seemed to hold to the same high standards as the schools in Sweden.Was the course at the level you expected, or did you expect something else?
No. I did not expect to learn so very much, so it was a much higher level than I expected.Were you satisfied with the course?
Extremely satisfied. Freepour practice was a little tedious after awhile. But now that I’m working as a bartender I realize how extremely important it is to have that skill. There are not many bartenders that can freepour as well as we can after taking the course.
