The Best Rooftop Bars From Around The World!
At European Bartender School, we’re always looking for the best rooftop bars around the world.
Unlike normal bars that depend on their regular visitors, rooftop bars rely on tourists, businessmen, and word-of-mouth, which is why they are eager to create the best possible experience for their guests.
As such, they will invest heavily in great products and highly-trained staff. So if you are looking for a great employer in the bartending industry, a rooftop bar will always look great on your resume.
The best rooftop bars to visit
Bello Visto, Tokyo
When in Tokyo, visiting hotel bars where the rooms are too expensive to afford is awesome!
If you felt inspired after watching “Lost in Translation” as well, Tokyo is not going to disappoint! Now, there are more exclusive hotels in the area, but none of them has the enormous glass windows that Bello Visto offers. Located on the 40th floor of the Cerulean Tower, young professionals like to meet up here, and while their gin tonic goes down just right, you can’t help but noticing red wine is still very big in Asia.
You may also wonder what these people make if they casually enjoy €150 bottles, but then again, this is Tokyo…
Sky Terrace, Milan
The best rooftop bars are the ones that give you that pre-party feeling whilst you enjoy a drink with your friends.
Sky Terrace works well because it is located conveniently in the heart of the Brera district (nightlife!), giving you heaps of options to go clubbing afterward. But until you do, enjoy the mojitos served in jam-jars, and watch over the terracotta rooftops of Milano.
When you are updating your Facebook status, make sure you include a picture and let people know you are “chilling on top of a 19th-century palazzo in the heart of Brera, Milano”.
See how many likes that will get you!
La Piscine at Hotel Americano, New York
If you have a fear of heights, this one might be a little problematic. It is not so much the 10 floors that will get you, but the glass elevator floor has repeatedly freaked people out in the past, fair enough…
Once you make it up there, things get better very quickly with that first sip of your specialty cocktail. Feel free to dip your feet in the pool and enjoy the view of the High-Line, New York’s refurbished Rail Yards. La Piscine throws parties with DJ’s in the summer, and the food is cooked on a traditional Mediterranean grill.

We recommend visiting this place after a relaxing stroll past the High-Line.
Rooftop Terrace of the Shangri-La, Paris
With the best view of the Eiffel Tower you will ever see, the Rooftop Terrace of the Shangri-La makes it onto our best rooftop bars list.
If you happen to be in Paris on the 14th of July, this is the best possible place to be in the entire city. Bastille Day climaxes with a great firework show, and again, you will sit front-row seat at the Shangri-La.
Unfortunately, people from all over the world will try to beat you to it, and reservation prices will skyrocket during the festivities.
But if you are willing to pay €800 for two people, a bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée and Petrossian caviar will be waiting for you in Paris. The closing time of PM 11:30 is a bit of a downer though…
