Ludo Ducrocq

GLOBAL EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY DIRECTOR

Ludo Ducrocq, member of EBS Board of Education

Ludo joined the Scotch whisky industry fresh from university in 2000. His early years were spent in Dufftown, Scotland’s malt whisky capital, where he worked as a distillery visitor centre tour guide and subsequently team leader.

He started travelling the world in 2004 when he took the position of Global Ambassador for Glenfiddich single malt Scotch whisky and discovered further markets from 2009 when he joined the blended whisky team as Global Ambassador for Grant’s whisky.

As an ambassador, Ludo travelled to over 50 countries and his contribution to Scotch whisky was recognised in 2012 when he was inducted as a Keeper of the Quaich.

In 2013, Ludo was promoted to lead William Grant & Sons’ ambassador programme as Global Head of Ambassador Advocacy. Over 5 years, Ludo grew the team to over 100 ambassadors across the company’s portfolio of gin, rum, Irish, American and Scotch whisk(e)y brands.

After 18 years with the Scottish distiller, Ludo started his current role as Global Director of Education and Advocacy at the Glenmorangie company, where he is leading the agenda on advocacy, brand ambassadors and education initiatives for Glenmorangie and Ardbeg single malt Scotch whiskies.

Ludo joined the Board of Education of the European Bartender School in 2017, assisting the global leader in bartender training with all whisky-related activities.

Ludo lives in Speyside with his wife and two children. When not talking about whisky, he likes to run, cycle and in his own words “attempt DIY projects… which often result in emergency calls to the professionals”.
