Day 1: Ingredients & Techniques

We’ll dive into the essentials of modern cocktail-making — covering syrups, cordials, fermentation, infusions, fat washing, foams, carbonation, and advanced garnishing. You’ll get hands-on with the processes that bring depth, balance and originality to every serve.

Day 2: Cocktails & Application

You’ll take what you’ve made and put it into practice, working through classic cocktail families to understand their structure and flavour profile. From there, we’ll move into modern interpretations and original recipes, building drinks that showcase technique, creativity and precision.

Course content overview

To deepen your understanding of cocktail DNA, we’ll take a journey through time—from the era of punch to modern day. Our instructors will guide you through creative, contemporary twists on classics, using modern ingredients while explaining how each element comes together to form balanced drink

With our experienced instructors advanced technology you’ll learn cutting edge techniques and methods currently being used by renowned bartenders worldwide. Let us guide you on how to use equipment such as – siphons, smokers, aromatizers, bubble guns, fermenters and much more!

Our instructors will engage both your mind and your palate! You’ll discover fun facts about the ingredients you’ll be using throughout the course, and learn why certain flavors pair so well together. We’ll get your tastebuds tingling as you explore how the structure of each cocktail family affects its balance, and how to apply this knowledge to do your own creative serves! You will be preparing:

  • Syrups
  • Cordials
  • Fat washes
  • Sodas
  • Infusions
  • Foams
  • Fluid gels

And you will be applying these in a wide variety of different cocktails!

At the end of the course, you and your classmates will be assigned random ingredients from the course and challenged to come up with your own original creation. Just like in Masterchef!

We recommend that students take the Mixology Course after the International Bartender Course to complete their knowledge. It’s the perfect way to close your EBS experience as the two-day course takes place immediately after the IBC. However, no experience is required!

Yes! You can choose to stay at EBS accommodation. Most of our students stay with us as it’s the best way to socialise during the course.
