Course content overview
To get to know the cocktail families in depth, we’ll work our way forwards through time, starting with drinks made around the 5th century! Our instructors will show you how to prepare each drink whilst explaining its background: why it came about, how it used to be made, etc. Some of the facts you would never guess!
Find out what it takes to make a cocktail taste absolutely perfect. You’ll learn the different methods, techniques, and types of equipment required to make flawless drinks. You will discover:
- Which method is most suitable for each drink
- Why some drinks are shaken, stirred, or rolled
- Jiggers and strainers
- How to shake a drink, types of shakers and their uses
- Types of bar spoons
- Different mixing techniques
These masterclasses will stimulate both your mind and mouth. Understand what distinguishes each product or group and get your taste buds tingling as you try to recognise each ingredient on your tongue.
Here are just a few of the mixtures you’ll prepare:
- Syrup
- Cordial
- Shrub
- Punch
- Flip
- Foam
- Fat wash
- Dehydrated garnish
- Rapid infusion
And you can count on your instructor to offer you awesome, unexpected twists.
Just like in MasterChef, you’ll be given a box of random ingredients with which you’ll have the opportunity to create a delicious cocktail!
