Itinerary

The tour activities may vary a little depending on the season and the interests of the group. Here’s an idea of the extraordinary memories you’ll be making:

The tour begins in Guadalajara and ends in Oaxaca. You’ll be constantly on the move, discovering new places every day. Don’t worry about logistics, though, we take care of organising all internal transport (including a domestic flight!).

Stroll the vibrant streets of three main Mexican cities to catch live music, enticing food stalls, and bright murals at every turn! Sip cocktails at the most famous bars, dip into museums, and catch famous festivals (if you’re lucky!).

Thanks to our special connections in Mexico, you’ll get to go behind the scenes at local distilleries. You’ll discover both ends of the manufacturing spectrum: watching how big brands handle large-scale production and getting an insight into traditional, family-run businesses. Discover how the masters craft their famous spirits from start to finish. You might get exclusive access to any of these producers: Arette, Patrón, Cascahuin, Calle 23, Fortaleza, Del Maguey, Montelobos.

“Who are they?” we hear you ask. Jimadores are the workers who slice down the agave plants to obtain the agave heart for baking. As you’ll see, it’s certainly hard work! The next step is to shred the agave core and extract its ever-so-important juice. This liquid is called mosto and must be fermented, distilled, and aged to produce the tequila we know today.

As for mezcaleros, it might be easier to guess what they do… They make mezcal! Mezcaleros are typically born into the role, descending from generations of family members who have been doing the same for decades. They take great pride in their craft and follow the traditional production methods in palenques - semi-open wooden distilleries.

Food and togetherness are inseparable in Mexico. Enjoying a meal means enjoying company. That’s why we’ll be savouring authentic Mexican food together every day, wherever our local gastro-guide takes us. No research required - stroll straight into the best places that tourists don’t know about and indulge in delicious tacos, enchiladas, mole, and more.

Every month in Mexico is exciting for a different reason. The fun we factor into your experience depends on the time of year you take the tour. You might enjoy:

Día de Muertos
An unforgettable festivity rooted in a heart-warming tradition. Watch the whole country light up with orange flowers, candles, and costumes! You’ll feel like you stepped right into Disney’s Coco.

Natural spa
After tasting all these punchy spirits, you’ll certainly be feeling the heat. Take some time to cool off in Oaxaca’s natural infinity pools. Enjoy the stunning views across the valley and see if you catch sight of the frozen waterfall.

Lucha libre
Sport? Entertainment? Insanity? Witness live Mexican wrestling and decide for yourself. This freestyle wrestling began gaining popularity in Mexico in the 20th century, and today there are many famous ‘hero’ luchadores, like El Santo or Gory Guerrero. With the brightly coloured masks, lycra fight suits, and melodramatic acting, the experience is both thrilling and theatrical.
