Why should you choose Cape Town?
Cape Town is regularly voted as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and with good reason. With an endless number of activities, mouth-watering food and friendly locals, you’ll fall in love with the city in no time.
Go full moon hiking up Table Mountain, surfing in Muizenberg, or skydiving just outside the city for a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Not into adrenaline rushes? Grab a glass of wine straight from the vineyard or a spirit on the rocks from a local distillery like Van Ryn’s. The last thing on your Cape Town list has to be a safari, it’s something you’ll never forget.See all Courses in Cape Town
The Cape Town School
The Cape Town bartending school is situated in the up and coming suburb of Woodstock. EBS Cape Town is over 400m2 and accommodates up to 36 students, this means you have tons of free space to practice all your bartending moves. The school boasts 12 bar stations, a flair room, a live bar and a theory room. You and your course mates can reach the school in just 20 minutes via bus if you are staying at the EBS Cape Town accommodation. The school has free Wi-Fi, a chill-out area, and a self-catering kitchen. The school also contains a cafe that operates during the day so you can grab a coffee and a bite to eat.
A sneak peek of EBS Cape Town
During your time in Cape Town, you’ll stay in a house situated on the upper level of Walmer Estate, a relaxed area just a short walk from the Cape Town Bartender School with a host of cool restaurants and bars nearby. A 10-minute Uber ride will take you into the heart of the bustling city centre. The house has 4 bedrooms of 6, some with en-suite bathrooms and for those without there is a separate bathroom. You can also soak up the sun out on the sun deck, have a dip in the pool or enjoy some downtime in the study room.
To stay in-line with current Covid-19 restrictions, we might need to temporarily pause or adjust some of these activities.
EBS Cape Town will invite industry professionals/ambassadors from renowned spirit brands such as Absolut, Havana Club and Beefeater to the school. They will give you masterclasses about their selected drinks. Masterclasses may vary from course to course.
We will host an industry night at EBS for South Africa’s local bar owners, professionals and enthusiasts. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to meet others in the industry and potentially land yourself a job for after the course.
On the first Friday of the course, you and your new course mates will go out and get to grips with the local bar scene down Cape Town’s hippest street, Bree Street! This is a brilliant opportunity for you to get to know all the other EBS students and instructors.
You will go on a guided tour of one of South Africa’s brandy or gin distilleries, depending on the time of year.
Some of Cape Town’s top bartenders will teach you about the history of cocktails in South Africa and what’s currently hot in the area, from drinks to techniques!
We will head to one of the many microbreweries around town or to the Beerhouse which contains hundreds of local & international beer brands.
We will look around the town for local ingredients, and discuss how to incorporate them into different cocktails back at the school.
